I love these refreshing, easy-to-make fresh grapefruit margaritas! They’re slightly tangy from the fresh citrus and a little bit boozy (because that’s how I roll). And they’re so good! Who wants one?
Pink Grapefruit Margaritas
Wow! How is it May already? You wouldn’t know it was almost summer from the weather here in San Diego. It’s cold and drizzling today and feels more like Scotland than Southern California. Ugh!
But hey, at least these lime and grapefruit margaritas are bright and cheery! And you know what they say … when life gives you grapefruits, make cocktails! That is what they say, right?
Grapefruit Margarita Recipe Tips:
And I promise you, these grapefruit margaritas hit all the right notes. Here’s what you need to know about making them.
- The Grapefruit and Limes: I like using freshly squeezed juice in this recipe. If you have an electric juicer, you can use it. It certainly helps if you are making a big batch of margaritas. But for these, I juiced both the grapefruits and the limes by hand using these this and this hand juicers.
- The Tequilla: I recommend using a white (also known as silver or blanco) tequila for this recipe. This type of tequila is aged for a shorter period of time and has a milder flavor.
- Salt: If you aren’t serving the drinks with salted glasses, add a pinch (about 1/4 teaspoon) of salt to the pitcher.
- Make-Ahead: You can make these drinks ahead of time. Just keep the drink mixture (without the ice) cool in the refrigerator until ready to serve. When you are ready, just add the ice.
