Description
This refreshing gin and elderflower cocktail is made with fresh grapefruit and lemon juice and prosecco simple syrup.

- 1 1/2 ounces gin
- 1 ounce fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice
- 3/4 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce elderflower liquor like St. Germain
- 1/2 ounce Prosecco simple syrup (recipe below in the notes)
- Ice
- Grapefruit peel, berries and flowers to garnish, if desired
Instructions
- Add the gin, grapefruit and lemon juice, elderflower liquor, and prosecco syrup to a shaker filled with ice and seal.
- Shake hard for 20 seconds.
- Pour into a chilled coupe glass. You can pour through a strainer to catch any remaining juice pulp or seeds, if needed.
- Garnish the glass with some grapefruit peel or as desired.

Notes
- I would use a good quality gin that is more citrus or floral forward and less juniper-forward. I used a Scottish gin called Rock Rose. Hendrick’s would also be a good option.
- To make the Prosecco syrup, take equal parts Prosecco and sugar (I used 1 cup Prosecco and 1 cup sugar) and add to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and let it simmer until all the sugar is dissolved and the liquid has started to thicken, about 3-5 minutes. The syrup can be refrigerated in a glass jar for up to 1 month. If you need to store it longer, it can also be frozen.
