Description
This refreshing, not-too-sweet classic Caribbean version of planter’s punch uses fresh lime and orange juice, lots of rum, some simple syrup, and a bit of spice. Easy to make and super sippable!

Units
Scale
- 1 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lime juice (about 10-12 small limes)
- 1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice (about 2 large oranges)
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 2 cups aged rum (I used Mount Gay’s Eclipse)
- 1 cup spiced rum (I used Sailor Jerry’s)
- 4 cup water
- 10 dashes Angostura bitters (or to taste)
- Optional garnish: ground nutmeg, lime
Instructions
- MIX INGREDIENTS: Mix together the lime juice, simple syrup, orange juice, rum, water, and bitters.
- CHILL THE PUNCH: Cool the punch until ready to serve.
- SERVE: When ready to serve, pour the punch into a glass of crushed ice. Garnish with a sprinkle of ground nutmeg if desired and some lime.
- MAKE-AHEAD: This is a great make-ahead recipe and can be prepared hours before you plan to serve it. I wouldn’t suggest making it more than 24 hours in advance, though, or the flavors will start to taste off.
Notes
You can easily double or triple this recipe if you’re serving a crowd.
